Figured coverlet; undyed and blue cotton and red, yellow (mustard), and blue wool, tied double cloth (Beiderwand). Coverlet is made of two panels joined by a central seam. Selvedges on either side. Bottom edge is hemmed. Top edge is bound in pink cotton with yellow dots (recent repair). Central motif of alternating medallions. One is four lilies surrounding a central star; the alternating medallion is four roses. Bordering central area, on both sides, is a chain of leafy vines. Corner block on right and lefthand side at bottom. Below corner block is weaver's name; "CHAMBG" follows next to it in repeat. A secondary border of a double row of stars is on the outer edge of both sides and bottom.Collection
