Description

Figured coverlet; undyed cotton and blue wool, tied double cloth (Biederwand). Center seam joins two panels. Seam is mismatched and coming unstitched. Hemmed top, sides and bottom fringed. Central motif consists of large leaf medallions enclosed in octagons separatd by diamonds with a grid interior and a"X" in the center. Coverlet is carpet-style. Wide borders are on sides and bottom. Bottom border has two vines seperated by a repeated floral motif. Corner blocks contain four sunflowers.
