Portrait of Eunice Grover Pendleton.
Born 19 March 1805 at Islesboro, Maine. Daughter of George W. Grover (1784 - 1870) and Lydia Stockbridge (1784 - 1867). The oldest of seven children, two sisters and four brothers.
Married Dr. Nathaniel Pendleton April 7 1823 at Islesboro, Maine. Moved to Gouldsboro, Winter Harbor, Maine in mid-1830s. Her parents, and all of her siblings, except her brother George, also moved to Gouldsboro. Her sister Mary married Nathaniel’s brother Samuel and lived in Prospect Harbor.
Nathaniel and Eunice had fourteen children of whom three lived to adulthood. They adopted a son, Charles William, in 1841.
Eunice died 26 Mar 1891 in Gouldsboro. She is buried with her husband and children in Greenwood Cemetery, Winter Harbor, Maine.
