These slides are primarily devoted to the destruction of Vail Mansion during September and October, 1974. These slides were the basis of the MVS book, The Destruction of Vail, published in 2014. See entry item 2015.605.1.There are a few slides in this collection that show the beginning of foundation construction of the T.N. Vail Center, the building that would replace Vail Mansion on the LSC campus. The footprint of the new foundation was roughly the same as for the original mansion. These foundation pictures likely date from 1975 and not all were used in the aforementioned MVS publication, The Destruction of Vail. The T.N. Vail Center opened in the fall of 1976, well past the purview of these slides.
