Brass Confederate South Carolina button. Palm tree with crossed arrows at bottom. "S" on left of tree and "C" on right. Motto around button "ANIMIS OPIBUSCUE PARATI". Imported from Hammond, Turner & Bates of Manchester, England. Came through blockade of Southern ports. Item on loan to another institution.
