Description

One of ten Confederacy Collection commemorative plates with gold around rim and elaborate gold design around outer edge. Shows Jeb Stuart on horseback with his hat uplifted in his right hand. Several soldiers and horses in background. Printed on back of plate in gold "TRUSTEES OF THE WHITE HOUSE OF THE CONFEDERACY Co-chairman: Bruce Catton Virginius Dabney. Mrs. Dwight D. Eisenhower, Mills E. Godwin, Jr., Governor Linwood Holton, Mrs. Lyndon B. Johnson, Archie K. Davis, Governor Ronald Reagan, U.S.Senator John C. Stennis. J.E.B. STUART Serial No. 148 Limited edition series issued 1971 A. D. on behalf of the restoration of the White House of the Confederacy and the construction of the new Museum of the Confederacy, Richmond, Virginia OXFORD BONE CHINA MADE BY LENOX U.S.A.". In center is seal of the Confederacy. Around George Washington on horseback is "THE CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA: 22 FEBRUARY 1862 DEO VINDICE". Number is on the outside of the box, not on the actual plate since plate is in its original packaging and does not look to have been opened.
