Description

Oak box with hand forged lock and large lock plate on front. Two hand forged hinges on back, one rectangular, one triangular. Fan shaped design carved into front. Red and green flowered paper pasted inside. Said by Thornton Perry to be a 17th century English Bible box. Probably late 17th century.
