Description

Medal and ribbon commemorating the 48th encampment of the G.A.R. Medal is in four parts. Top has an spread-winged eagle standing on crossed cannons above a pile of cannon balls. Hanging under the eagle is a small rendition of the official medal of the Grand Army of the Republic. Two small chains are attached to the top bar and goes to a bar that says "DELEGATE". The bottom part is in the shape of a jar and has "EAST LIVERPOOL OHIO" with a round image of the "SOLDIERS MEMORIAL CHAPEL" and another round image of "OLDEST POTTERY 1839". On back of the jar is "48TH ANNUAL ENCAMPMENT G.A.R. DEPARTMENT OF OHIO JUNE 22---25, 1914.". A red, white and blue ribbon is attached to the back of the top. The ribbon says in gold letters "48TH ANNUAL ENCAMPMENT G.A.R. DEPARTMENT OF OHIO JUNE 22--25, 1914".
