Description

Two piece roaster for roasting coffee beans on a wood stove. Bottom part is cast iron and pan-like with a handle on one side. There is a 4.5 cm. lip in which the cylindrical roaster sits. There is a small handle on one side of the cylinder to crank it as it sits on the stove. In the other end is a wood stopper with a scoop attached for testing the coffee. There are small holes in the cylinder. The plugged end of the cylinder rests in a ring that can be raised and lowered. On the plugged end of the cylinder is "E.J. HYDE'S PATENT FEB'Y 2, 1864."
