Late 19th or early 20th century large hand calculator/adding machine with nine rows of adjustable numbers from one to nine with click adjuster on each row. On the bottom is another row of numbers that can be selected by sliding a small arrow indicator to the number desired. Crank handle on right side. Three wing-nut type adjustors on sides. Machine is attached to a plywood base and has a metal lid with a key and broken leather handle. On top of the machine is "BRUNSVIGA NO 10699" Below that is "PATENT" and a circular coat-of-arms with "G. N. & C. C. & A.", abbreviations for Grimme, Natalis & Co. A.G.
