Description

Naval captain's uniform with jacket, trousers and hat, gabardine. Jacket is Navy blue with four gold stripes with a star above on each cuff. Jacket has six gold buttons with spread-winged eagle standing on an anchor. Five rows of ribbons above left breast pocket. Captain's shoulder boards are in an unopened package in left pocket of jacket. Label inside jacket on right side says "U.S. NAVY NAVAL UNIFORM SHOP BROOKLYN, N.Y.". Trousers are black and have zipper fly and buttons for suspenders inside at waistband. Stitching has come apart in or been taken apart in back and back has two safety pins. Service hat is white with black bill and band with gold strap on front held with gold buttons on each side. Silver and gold Naval emblem is on front. Captain's gold leaves and acorns ("scrambled eggs") on bill. On sweat band "6 3/4 BANCROFT Pak-Cap TRADEMARK CONSTRUCTION U.S. PAT. NO. 3816852".
