Description

Black, iron, stagecoach strongbox (safe); door opens from the top on two hinges and has a hasp and staple locking mechanism. (No lock with box.) On the door a one-eighth-inch-wide gold stripe is painted on three sides of a rectangle: two shorter sides extend seven inches from the back of each hinge toward the hasp-side of the door and a nine-inch long stripe connecting the two shorter sides at right angles. Each hinged handle on either side is attached to the safe on black decorative plates with gold-painted floral features at the top center of the plate. On the front side of the safe is a gold-painted drawing showing a four-wheeled stagecoach with a door and two curtained windows being pulled by four horses. Holding the reins is a driver with a cowboy hat.
