Description

Yardstick with the words LEGGETT STORES- HEADQUARTERS FOR FASHION FABRICS underneath the measuring portion of the yardstick on both sides. Used for advertising and as complimentary gifts for customers. Leggett operated in Charles Town in the 1960s and 1970s in the building at 225 West Washington Street where the American Legion is today (2013). The building was erected for the Pitts Jefferson Theater, probably in the 1940s.
