Description

20th Century paper hand fan advertising Smith & Strider Funeral Home on one side and depicting "The Last Supper" on the other. The paper fan is roughly square shaped with rounded, styled corners and is attached with two staples to a flat, wooden stick. The back of the fan is blank except for black text that reads: Compliments of SMITH & STRIDER Charlestown, W.Va. The front of the fan has a color image of the Last Supper inside a black lined border, and with text below that reads: "The Last Supper. And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body...And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it.--Matt, 26: 26-27." The image is signed by the artists and contains text that reads: With the permission of Kunzli Bros Ltd. Zurich, Switzerland.
