Monument to Col. John A. Washington, III. Photo includes nine young women (perhaps UDC pages?); Mrs. Walter Washington; Reverend John S. Alfriend, rector of Zion Church in Charles Town, West Virginia, 1902-1920, and an unidentified woman. Monument reads "Lt. Col. John Augustine Washington, C.S.A., of Mount Vernon, Aide-de-camp of General Robert E. Lee, killed Elkwater, September 13, 1861, buried in Zion Churchyard, Charles Town, West Virginia."
