Description

.36 caliber Massachusetts Arms Company revolver, 6 shot, Maynard primer. Barrel is rifled and pitted near end. Primer door is missing. Screws for hammer and grips are missing. Scroll work on hammer and frame. Stamped on top strap "MASS. ARMS CO. CHICOPEE FALLS". Stamped on barrel latch "NOV. 26, 1850". Stamped on rod under barrel "69". Trigger guard is blued and may have been added after manufacture. Stamped around end of barrel are 14 crude dots. Purported by collector to have been owned by John Brown.
