Description

World War II Freedom Medal. Ribbon has wide red stripe down center with small alternating purple, blue, yellow and red stripes on each side. Round medal shows woman (Liberty?) standing with right foot on helmet, broken sword in right hand, sheath in left hand and "WORLD WAR II". Reverse has leafy frond in center and words 'UNITED STATES OF AMERICA 1941-1945" around edge. Also "FREEDOM FROM FEAR AND WANT FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND RELIGION". Blue box with medal has paper label that says "MEDAL, CAMPAIGN AND SERVICE, VICTORY, WORLD WAR II"
