Pocket sized notebook with a pocket for an apparent mechanical pencil. Hinge on notebook is missing the latch. Inside front cover is a label stating "Henry Penny's Metallic Memorandum Books, No. 42 1/2". Label includes a chart of "Bill Stamps, Inland Bills of Exchange & Promissory Notes". Pages have various ciphers and records of money received. Names mentioned include Lucas Hanes, Benton Goodloe.
