Rectangular wooden nickel. Two corners have the number 1 printed, and the other two have images of a buffalo and a Native American profile. On the front text reads:ONE WOODEN NICKEL Jefferson County SESQUI-CENTENNIAL "Our Past Revealed" "Our Future Assured" Sept. 17th-22nd 1951. Copyright 1939 John & Rogers Producing Co., Fostoria, Ohio. On the back text reads: 150 Years of Progress This Wooden Nickel will be accepted at face value by any merchant in this county until September 22nd, 1951. Unbroken, it will be redeemed at face value at the Bank of Charles Town; the Peoples Bank of Charles Town, or the Blakeley Bank & Trust Co., Ranson on or before 12 noon, on September 22, 1951.
