Two orders. One order is numbered in pencil in top left "5856-3" dated "June 22, 1907". Body of order is "Sir: - Report to the Governor of the Naval Home, Philadelphia, Pa., for duty at the Naval Hospital under his command. This employment on shore duty is required by the public interest. Respectfully, Victor H. Metcalf (signature) secretary. Acting Assistant Surgeon Benjamin F. Haines, U.S.N., #20 South Front Street, New Castle, Pa.". Order was framed with simple dark wood frame, under glass. Removed from frame 06/27/2012. Under the first order described above was another order dated June 14, 1907, and hand numbered in pencil 5856-1. Body of this order: "SIR:- The President of the United States, having appointed you an Acting Assistant Surgeon in the Navy, with the rank of Lieutenant (junior grade), from the 12th day of June, 1907, I have the pleasure to enclose herewith your appointment, dated June 14, 1907."Acquisition
