Typewritten and handwritten copies of a 1772 deed, and later related letter, concerning Norborne Parish glebe (St. George's Chapel glebe) between John and Jane Berry of Norborne Parish, Berkeley County, and Samuel Washington and William Hancher, Church Wardens of the Parish (Berry to Church Wardens). Folder contains the following: 1. Typed transcript of deed with 3/14/56 Return to ??? hand written on top left of first page 2. Handwritten 4-page copy of deed. Penciled on back of last page "St George Chapel Deed" and "Return this to me, as I must return. When you type copy, type carbon copy for me please" signed "Nelle Moler" 3. Letter of transmittal: "Dear Nellie [Moler]" dated May 15, 1939, and signed Rose S. Freshour. Letter references "... enclosed a copy of the deed and I must tell you Bishop Strider was delighted to have it unearthed." 4. Envelope addressed to Mrs. M. S. R. Moler, "Maplemount", Shepherdstown, West Va. from Mrs. R. S. Freshour, 332 S. Maple Ave, Martinsburg, with canceled 3-cent postage stamp and "St. Georges Chapel Records" penciled on front.
