Typed manuscript of a book--"A Bicentennial History Jefferson County West Virginia 1801-2001"--that was published to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Jefferson County: "... [we decided] the Bicentennial History should focus on the small communities that are rapidly disappearing in our county. For that reason, the information published in the Sesquicentennial (150 year anniversary) Souvenir Historical Booklet on Charles Town, Harpers Ferry, and Shepherdstown has been simply reproduced in this book; our effort was concentrated on collecting information on the county's other communities. In addition, we have included an overview of the county's history over the past fifty years, as well as several topical histories."
