The Charlestown Cornet Band was formed c. 1888. It performed at a variety of social events, and in the 1890s led the Memorial Day parade from Public Square to Edge Hill Cemetery. The band was organized under the direction of "Professor" Osbourn. By 1890, Thomas Baker took over direction of the band. The band held several fundraisers to accumulate funds to purchase uniforms.Acquisition
