Description

Captain LeRoy Parker Daingerfield was wounded at the battle of Philippi, June 4, 1861, and was the first man to lose a limb in the Confederate States Army. Born Frederick Co. on December 14, 1825, died in Staunton on October 8, 1904, and buried Emanuel Lutheran Church Cem., Verona, Augusta Co. (Daingerfield shortened his first name from Fauntleroy to LeRoy.) Two additional copies including the original donated on June 14, 2013, by Rev. John Alfriend
