Small, gold-color metal pendant from the Virginia Female Institute given to Miss Daisie B. Hooff in 1880 for diligence and neatness. Engraved on one side: "Va. Female Institute 1880"; engraved on other side: "Miss Daisie B. Hooff Diligence & Neatness". There is a ring to attach a chain, but there is no chain. Daisie Hooff was Annie Beckham Hooff (1864-1953), who married William Hill Brown in 1894; she was the daughter of James Lawrence Hooff and Ann Amelia Beckham Hooff.
