Description

U. S. Army sword scabbard found in Evitts Run, near Perry's Pond ("The Hill"), Charles Town, sometime around the 1980s. Slight curve. According to historian, Doug Perks, it possibly was associated with the Union Army, which had a guard station near the entrance to The Hill guarding the Charles Town/Berryville Turnpike, circa 1862-1864.
