In 2020 the Bakerton Post Office is on 834 Carter Avenue, Harpers Ferry.
The Bakerton Post Office was established on April 1, 1890. Services were discontinued on September 13, 1963 and were transferred to Harpers Ferry; however they were restored in September 1988 after town residents petitioned the U.S. Post Office. Preston L. Millard was appointed Postmaster on April 30, 1897 and at 42 years of service may be the longest serving Jefferson County postmaster (page 21, Magazine of the Jefferson County Historical Society, December 2001).
