Collection of papers and photographs from the Hall-Hite family of Jefferson County. Folders 1-3: Correspondence dated 1830s and 1840s among Hall-Hite women and a few male relatives, including members of the Briscoe family. Folder 4: Miscellaneous correspondence--one letter dated March 5, 1798, from George Hite to Jacob Manning. Folder 5: Poems and school papers, most undated. Folder 6: Financial papers (48): receipts, account statements, insurance policy, 1810 to 1936 (some undated). Folder 7: Land and legal documents (9): militia appointment, survey, deeds, will, indentures, 1819 to 1894 (one undated). Folder 8: Photos: 34 of unidentified people/places, 8 of identified people/place, 1 negative of unidentified person (some duplicate photos in Hall-Tabb Family Collection-ARC285). Folder 9: Newspaper clippings (17): obituaries, announcements, politics, current events, most undated. Folder 10: Miscellaneous (24): Memorex disk, postcards, business/calling cards, funeral/memorial notice, address list, school papers, framed reprint, acknowledgement.
