Hill Top House, Harpers Ferry, W. Va. From the spacious porches and rooms of this historic Hostelry one can look out on a view that includes where the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers meet and has been called the "Little Alps of America." Harpers Ferry long has been a mecca for artists and each June they hold an outdoor art exhibit. Hill Top House was a favorite with Mark Twain. The present owner of the hotel is a direct descendant of one of Harpers Ferry's first settlers.
