Description

Detroit Automatic Scale Co. scale with viewable scale behind glass and marble tray. Made in Detroit, Michigan. Includes hanging weight rack and a set of weights that are 10 1/2 lb, 20 1 lb, 20 1 lb, and 30 1 1/2 lb. Includes detached metal hook. Embossed inscription on back reads: DETROIT AUTOMATIC SCALE CO. DETROIT, MICHIGAN. Underneath is the word "Detroit" and a brass tag that reads: PATENTED MAY 19, 1903 - MAR 27, 1906; OCT 8, 1907 - OCT 19, 1909; APR 4, 1911 - MAY 18, 1915; JUNE 22, 1915 - JULY 27, 1915; OTHERS PENDING; Scale no. 519531 Cap 100 Scale was found in the former J.C. Penney store on West Washington Street in Charles Town.
