Description

Medal presented to Marshall Mason by Martinsburg and Berkeley County for his service during World War I. Metal pin attached to red, white, and blue ribbon; hanging from the center of the ribbon is round metal medallion. Curved along the top front of the medallion is "PRESENTED TO ONE WHO SERVED HIS COUNTRY IN HONOR" and curved along the bottom front is "WORLD WAR 1917-19"; in the center is a bird (presumably an eagle), along with crossed weapons over an anchor and a cross. On the back of the medallion is "PRESENTED TO MARSHALL MASON BY PEOPLE OF MARTINSBURG AND BERKELEY CO. W. VA.", encircled by a wreath.
