This collection consists of financial and legal records concerning 1) property held by J. Frank and Leacey McDonald Beckwith and their heirs and 2) the law practices of J. Frank and Frank J. Beckwith, who were attorneys in Charles Town.
The immediate heirs of J. Frank and Leacey McDonald Beckwith were their three children (who survived to adulthood): Frank Jennings Beckwith (married Shannon Denny); Elizabeth Morton Beckwith (married Paul T. MacKie); and Eloise Lloyd Beckwith (married John R. Tucker). Leacey McDonald Beckwith was the daughter of Angus W. and Elizabeth Morton Sherrard McDonald.
