Description

Portable wooden writing desk with metal scrolling design along edges. Engraved on top of desk is "L. Dorsey Presented by Capt. Brightman Nov. 1859." In the front, center is a key hole (key is missing). The hinged top opens to a green felt-covered and folding writing surface and interior with a front section fitted with five small drawers. Below the upper hinged writing surface when open reveals a bottom compartment with three loose drawers and two loose wood pieces. Owned by Euphemia "Effie" Mary Goldsborough Willson. Given to Euphemia by Laura Dorsey, her cousin.
