Wheelwright's iron traveler measuring tool with movable arrow indicator. Embossed along edge of wheel is "WILEY & RUSSELL MFG CO. GREENFIELD, MASS." Wheel marked off with 1/8th inch gradations up to 25".
Wheelwrights used this tool to roll around the outside of a wooden wagon wheel to determine the circumference in order to make the iron tire to the right size.Acquisition
