Four documents concerning Ella Bassett Washington (1834-1898), a direct descendant of George Washington's sister Betty Washington Lewis and wife of Lewis Washington, great- grandnephew of George Washington. Thomas Washington inherited Beallair near Halltown through his mother, Elizabeth Beall. Ella Bassett Washington and her husband lived at Beallair a few years before and after the Civil War.
