Handwritten letter from Mrs. Rion Lucas (Cora May Osbourn Lucas) and son, George Robert Lucas, to Frank and Audrey Mayo Buckles, concerning news of mutual acquaintances in Jefferson County; George's and Cora's health; selling Elmwood to Oscar and Janet Brown Stine and buying a house; and reference to Buckle's homeplace. Dated January 24, 1949. Although Cora Lucas signed the letter as "mother," she was not the mother of either Frank or Audrey Buckles. Letter and envelope are on stationary that reads: Mrs. Rion Lucas, "Elmwood," Shenandoah Junction, West Virginia.
