A collection of four manuscripts by Virginia Duff Tabb describing her life on Avon Bend Farm near Kabletown from 1938 to 1946. Describes farm life, including raising animals and tending agricultural fields; home appliances, including kerosene lamps, telephones, cook stoves, and cistern pumps; the flood of October 1942; participation in the Blue Ridge 4H Club; shortages and rationing during World War II; and her marriage to Lyle Tabb. Manuscripts contain drawings and photographs of buildings and home floor plans.
