Description

C. W. Shipley School on High Street. Built in 1912, the building was originally the Harpers Ferry High School, in 1930 named Harpers Ferry Graded School, and in 1968 named C. W. Shipley Elementary. In 1930 when the Harpers Ferry High School was built in Bolivar, the building became the elementary school. Named in 1968 in honor of C. W. Shipley. The National park Service purchased the building in the 1970's. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
