Legend includes markers for roads and roadway features, navigation, airports, railroads, drainage, structures, boundaries, conservation or recreation, dwellings, farm units, etc., educational, correctional, business and industry, public service facilities, miscellaneous, and city and village centers. Populations shown are 1970 U.S. Census. Mileages shown are between adjacent road intersections, corporation, county or state lines. The maps are derived from U.S.G.S. topographic maps and aerial photographs. They are revised biennially as to road changes, surface types, corporation lines, post offices, and other non-cultural features. Roadside culture by field survey in 1966.
