Description

The words on the post card, "County Jail, Charles Town, wherein John Brown was imprisoned during trial," are incorrect. The original jail (erected in 1806) where John Brown was imprisoned was destroyed during the Civil War and rebuilt in 1874. The rebuilt jail is pictured.
