Governor Gaston Caperton has declared 1996 as Homecoming 96, encouraging all former residents and visitors to come home to West Virginia; to see all the exciting changes that are taking place and remind them of the breathtaking beauty. It really is "Almost Heaven."
Charles Towns Homecoming '96 is the second largest celebration in the
state, with hundreds of reenactors and volunteers participating. June 7-16, 1996, is packed with events everyday, there is something of interest for everyone; culminating in the Mountain Heritage Arts and Crafts Festival, (rated in the top five in the country).
