Description

The Stage Coach Inn Harpers Ferry, West Virginia From this building stages used to ply between Harpers Ferry and Washington City, now Washington, D. C., a distance of approx. 58 miles. This is the original building constructed in 1859, prior to John Browns raid. At the top of the picture can be seen St. Peter's Catholic Church, which has not suspended services since 1830 to the present day.
