Silver dress sword (scabbard is cataloged as #1632). Circa 1812. It has a helmet crest with a feather plume coming out of the helmet. The handle is bone and the silver part of the handle has an engraving of a hand holding a knife with an animals head through the blade of the knife. There is also the initials JL(?) inscribed on the silver part below the knife engraving. The blade is partly blue with a gold lining running down the sides. There are 5 golden engravings on each side of the blade. Side one incudes a 1) Floral and curved line design, 2) Vine design, 3) A flower with vines, 4) Vine design, and 5) A crescent moon. Side two includes 1) Floral and curved line design, 2) Vine design, 3) A circle with a bow at the bottom and inside the circle is a vine, 4) A vine design with an arrow running through it, and 5) A ribbon.Acquisition
