.44 caliber 1850 Army colt revolver. Round barrel. On top of barrel "--ADDRESS COL. SAML. COLT NEW YORK U.S. AMERICA--" On cylinder between 2 lines "COLT'S PATENT N. 5752" Below that "PAT. SEPT. 10th 1850". Below cylinder on frame "COLTS PATENT". Numbers on frame below barrel, on brass trigger guard and at bottom of butt. "91295". Numbers on frame just in front of brass trigger guard "122172". "W" stamped just behind trigger guard. Initials "A. M." scratched in metal on bottom of butt.
Owned by Albert Lasieu Moore, who served as a private in Co. A (Jefferson Guards), 2nd Virginia Infantry Regiment, Stonewall Brigade, Army of Northern Virginia,during the Civil War.Acquisition
