Songs of the People is a collection of hymns, folk, patriotic, and other songs published in a pamphlet with much of the front cover as an advertisement for P. O. Dunaway, Furniture & Undertaking, Charles Town. Ads for other Jefferson County, Berkeley County, Clarke County and Frederick County (Va.) businesses and institutions appear on four inside pages, the inside of the front cover and both sides of the back cover. Physical Description: 48 pp of songs, plus several pages of ads. The handwritten name Thomas Baumgardner appears eight times on front and back covers.
