Professor of the Institutes and Practice of Medicine in the University of Pennsylvania. Published by Edward Earle, Philadelphia among others noted. Pringle served as Physician General to the British Army in the 1740s, and is widely regarded as the father of military medicine. His books lay down the principles of military sanitation and the ventilation of barracks, gaols, hospitals, ships, etc‚ it was due to his remarks‚ that foot soldiers were given blankets when on service. This book was first published in 1752 and is a collection of experiences, accounts, and observations of his involvement with military medicine.
