Fancois Soules- Histoire des Troubles de L’Amerique Anglainse

Name/Title

Fancois Soules- Histoire des Troubles de L’Amerique Anglainse

Description

Second, enlarged, and best edition. "In its completed form the best French history of this war; Rochambeau aided in its preparation"-- Howes. An excellent work covering the history from 1768 and trhough 1783 and the signing of the treaty at Paris. The large map is a handsome rendering of the eastern and southern United States north through a good part of Canada. The "Plan d'York en Virginie, avec les Attaques et les Campemen de l'Armee Combinee de France et d'Amerique" has a number of those locations colored by hand, as does the map of Long Island, and Delaware and Chesapeake bays; both are on blue paper.
