Name/Title
Frances Young Flintom at the Miramar Club
Description
This remarkable series of five photographs held by the Huntington Library capture a backgammon presentation by Frances Young Flintom using a giant "beach backgammon" set at the Miramar Club in Santa Monica, California.. The event was captured by a number of photographers, as different views of the event were published in newspapers from December 1930 into the spring of 1931. Note that the audience is nearly exclusively of women, who were often eager to include backgammon in their social gatherings during the 1930-31 craze.
The Collection seeks original press photos of any of these images.
