Bridge Pencil SetEntry/Object ID
BG-2026.0118Description
This set of bridge scorekeeping pencils with square numbered tags rendered in celluloid are of the same material and numeral styling as certain doubling cubes found in sets of the early 1930's. As the popular backgammon authorities of the time were universally adept at bridge, the dominant social game of the day, it seems likely that backgammons' doubling cube was inspired by similar markers and indicators from the sister game.Made/Created
