The earliest of many photos of Joan Crawford at play, here with husband Douglas Fairbanks Jr. "They play backgammon. Every night." ('Motion Picture', July 1931.) Note the cleverly designed folding backgammon table with clasps on edge (is there a handle on the other side?) -- as well as the rare "doubling dial" on the far side of the board.
Collection seeks a doubling dial and folding table in this style, as well as an original of this press photo.
